Fernandez & Olivas is a general practice law firm with special focus on civil aviation, corporation, contracts, criminal, civil law, human rights, women’s rights and children’s rights. Its clients are in diverse industries such as airline and logistics industries, stock brokerage, construction, security, education, trucking, music and sound production, and renewable energy.

It was established in 1991 by Ricardo N. Fernandez, Jr. and Rosario R. Olivas. (In 1996, Atty. Olivas left the partnership to return in 2012. In the period 1997-2011, Atty Fernandez continued the practice with Ma. Verena Kasilag-Villanueva.).

Ricardo N. Fernandez, Jr. obtained his law degree from the University of the Philippines in 1977 and Bachelor of Arts in 1972. He completed the Pre-judicature Program of the Philippine Judicial Academy in 2007. He also took up Master of Laws (LlM) at San Beda College of Law (thesis incomplete). He also completed the Summer Course at International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France in 1988, and the (CITIC) International Seminar on International Economic Contracts from October 8-13 in 1983. He is a professional lecturer at the De La Salle University College of Law.

Rosario Olivas obtained her law degree also from the University of the Philippines in 1987 and Bachelor of Arts in 1981. She teaches law University of the Philippines and De La Salle University. She is a lecturer in Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Courses of the UP College of Law, DLSU College of Law in affiliation with Chan Robles Professional Review, Inc, and the Quezon City Chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. She teaches civil procedure, criminal procedure, special proceedings, special civil actions, persons and family relations, and appellate practice.

Ma. Patricia T. Cañalita joined the law firm in 2018, the same year she passed the Philippine Bar. She is a graduate of the College of Law of De La Salle University.
